Project History

The owner had already installed a woodchip boiler for a series of other properties on the estate before deciding to utilise Nexus Energy and the “Heizomat” boiler to meet their new requirements on a different part of the estate.  The requirement was to provide space heating and hot water to the farm office, bungalow and a beautiful thatched farm house utilising their existing woodchip supply chain.

Nexus Energy Ltd designed and specified the wood fuelled heating system using a Heizomat RHK-AK 100 (100kW) boiler system – a fully modulating and completely automated biomass solution.

Nexus Energy and the Estate team worked closely with one another to complete the project to time and budget.

The boiler is expected to utilise c. 60 tonnes of seasoned woodchip per annum.  Woodchip is stored in bulk in the same barn as the immediate fuel store.  A telehandler is used every ten days during the winter months to maneuver the woodchip into the immediate fuel store.

The Boiler is expected to use c. 120 tonnes of seasoned wood chip per year. Wood chip is transported from an annual fuel store within close proximity to an immediate fuel store using a telehandler with a large bucket.
